Vegetable tasting
This half term we have been learning about planting and growing. On Friday Mrs O'Connor very kindly gave us some cabbage and potatoes. We cooked the cabbage, talking about when it's ready it looks like it is dancing in the pan. Some children enjoyed the cabbage more than others!

Using clay in 2S
This week we have been experimenting with clay, creating tiles and pots. We used a range of equipment to design our clay in different ways. Next week we will be trying to create an African pot.

Cress seeds Y1S
We have been continuing our growing project this week in year 1 Sacrament. We have sewn seeds, put bulbs to grow in water and we are now growing cress on cotton wool.

Puppets
We have started our new topic in Design and Technology. We are learning about puppets. Today we made two different types and had a go at threading. We will be sewing a puppet later this half term.

YRS Maths- Halving
This week we have been working on doubling and halving in maths. On Thursday we used different food items that we could split in half.

PE in year 2
We have started gymnastics in PE. We enjoyed rolling, rocking and rolling and travelling on benches in a straddle position.

Planting in Year 1 Sacrament
We are learning about plants and trees in science this half term. We sewed pansy seeds, planted apple and orange pips, planted sunflower seeds and planted some fully grown pansy plants - watch this space for progress!

Key Stage 1 Writing Competition
Key Stage 1 had the chance to enter a writing competition this half term. Everyone who entered was awarded with a bookmark. Some children were chosen to have their acrostic poems published in a book. Well done everyone!

Year 1’s church visit
Year 1 visited church to see the stations of the cross. Mrs Finch talked through each station to help the children learn the story of Easter and the significance it holds.
