The Blessed Sacrament is a voluntary aided Catholic primary school which serves the parish of The Blessed Sacrament and works closely with the neighbouring parish community of St Maria Goretti. (A link to the school website can be found here) We seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ. We promote these values in our words and deeds, and Catholic doctrine and practice therefore permeate every aspect of the school’s activity. We provide a Catholic curriculum, which is broad and balanced, recognising that every pupil is unique and is created in the image of God (Gen 1:27). Our curriculum is designed to enable every pupil to discern their vocation and to be well-equipped to follow it as active citizens in service to the world. We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and strong pastoral support. We incorporate democratic principles, value the rule of law, support individual liberty and foster a community in which different faiths and beliefs are respected.

The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School is a loving school family. The essential triangle of home, school and parish aim to work tirelessly together to provide the best for our children.  With the larger than average size of our school, comes the challenge and responsibility of creating a community with Christ at its centre. The Blessed Sacrament is a community where everyone is valued, nurtured and encouraged to fulfil their God-given potential.

The Year of the Eucharist "Venite Adoremus"

From November 2018 to November 2019, we celebrated the Year of the Eucharist as directed by Bishop Paul Swarbrick. During this year, we focused on developing our understanding of the Eucharist through religious education and prayer and liturgy.

The Year of the Word ' The God Who Speaks'

We have recently celebrated The Year of the Word. The aim of this special time was ‘Celebrating, Living and Sharing God’s Word’.  It invited us to explore the most extraordinary book ever written – the Bible. In school, we have focused on listening attentively to Scripture during prayer and liturgy and reflecting on what God may be speaking to us through it.

Through Religious Education, children learn about the Catholic Faith and how living as a follower of Jesus, impacts on all aspects of a person’s life. (Click here to find out more about our RE curriculum)
