Planting seeds
As part of this terms science we have planted some giant sunflower seeds, herb seeds, grass seed and we are growing a hyacinth bulb. We have set up some experiments too, we want to find out if a seed will germinate and grow without water, light or both.

Stations of the Cross
Mrs Finch took us to church and taught us all about the Stations of the Cross. It really helped us gain a deeper understanding of the story of Easter.

African Lobi Pots
We made African Lobi Pots in art. We used play dough and salt dough to learn the skills we needed and then used clay to make our final piece.

Repurposing plastic
As a start to our recycling project we began by repurposing plastic bottles. We made a fish.
2 Blessed’s special visitor
Year 2 were extremely well behaved when our special visitor arrived after our party. They asked great questions and we learnt that Father Christmas likes Italian food!

Team building
In PE today year 2 classes joined together for a team building lesson. We played games that could only be won by working together. It was great to watch the children problem solve together and to help each other.

Looking After God’s World
Today we have been learning about how God wants us to look after the world He made for us. We talked about all the things we could do. Keeping things clean and tidy was important to many of the children. After that, we went outside with gloves and litter pickers and tidied up our playground.

Planting bulbs
Last week, Year 2 began preparation for our science topics next year. We examined bulbs and seeds, learnt about their differences, then we planted daffodil bulbs outside. We hope to observe them grow in Spring!

The Gunpowder Plot in Year 2
As a start to our first history topic in year 2 we had a bonfire in the school garden and made a sparkler in class. We will be learning all about The Gunpowder Plot over this half term, I am sure you will hear all about it.
